New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble, formed in 1994 in New York City by musicians from various countries, gained recognition for blending jazz standards with ska. Their debut album, New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble, was released in 1995 under Moon Ska Records. The group's unique sound also incorporated elements of dancehall, reggae, and rocksteady. They released several albums, including Low Blow (1997), Get This! (1998), and Minor Moods (2003). The ensemble performed extensively in Europe, North America, and South America. Notable releases include the live album Live In Europe (2001) and studio albums such as Skaleidoscope (2005), Step Forward (2008), Break Thru (2019), and In the Moment (2022).
