Biography
Neil Campbell is a British composer and musician born on May 19, 1966, in Scotland. He began producing music in 1979, emphasizing improvisation. In 1984, his group ESP Kinetic applied to appear on the Jabberwok label. During the 1980s and 1990s, Campbell released recordings through independent tape labels. He performed in the Nottingham ensemble A Band and collaborated with Smell and Quim under the pseudonym D. Foist. He was a member of the Vibracathedral Orchestra between the late 1990s and 2006. Campbell collaborated with Matthew Bower in the groups Total and Sunroof!. His solo discography included the studio recordings These Premises Are No Longer Bugged (1997) and Sol Power (2003). In 2006, he established the Astral Social Club project. He contributed to the Waywords and Meansigns project in 2015 by setting a chapter of the book Finnegans Wake to music.
