DIN A Testbild, a German underground band founded in 1978 by Mark Eins and Gudrun Gut in West Berlin, is regarded as a driving force in the city's expressive avant-garde music scene and the emergence of the later techno movement. Their debut single "Abfall/Garbage" was released in 1979, followed by their first album Programm 1 in 1980 on Klaus Schulzeâs label Innovative Communication. The band composed film scores for works such as Rosa von Praunheim's Rote Liebe (1980) and David Vostellâs short film Ginger Hel (1982), with Eins starring in both films. DIN A Testbild continued to release albums, including Programm 6 Collage (2010) under Bureau B. The band celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2018 with special releases from the Japanese label Suezan Studio.
