Muph & Plutonic, an Australian hip hop group, was formed in 2004 by MC Muphin (Dan Young) and Plutonic Lab (Leigh Ryan). Both members had solo careers before joining forces; Plutonic Lab released his first solo album in 2001, while Muphin gained recognition after winning the 2001 Victorian Verbal Mechanics Freestyle Battle Competition. Their debut album, Hunger Pains, was released in 2004 and received favorable reviews, with the single "Heaps Good" gaining significant airplay on Triple J. The group's second album, Silence the Sirens, followed in 2006, also receiving positive reviews. Muph & Plutonic extensively toured from 2007 to 2008, performing at major Australian music festivals. Their third album, ...And Then Tomorrow Came, was released in 2008, reaching number 46 on the Australian charts and earning an ARIA Award nomination for Best Urban Release.
