Biography

Mortal Sin are an Australian thrash metal ensemble from Sydney formed in 1985. The group was established by Wayne Campbell, Paul Carwana, Andy Eftichiou, Keith Krstin, and Mat Maurer. They achieved professional recognition as the first Australian thrash metal band to conduct an international tour. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording Mayhemic Destruction (1986), which was re-released internationally by Vertigo Records in 1987. They achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Face of Despair (1989), featuring the track “I Am Immortal” (1990), and performed as the opening act for Metallica during the Damaged Justice tour. Their discography includes the studio recordings Every Dog Has Its Day (1991), An Absence of Faith (2007), and Psychology of Death (2011). After periods of inactivity beginning in 1991, 1993, 1998, and 2012, the ensemble resumed activity in 2025.
