Biography

Mila Mar, a German alternative rock band, was formed in 1994 in Marth near Göttingen. The group released their self-titled debut album in 1997, followed by Nova in 1999 and Elfensex in 2000. Notable singles include "Maid of Orleans" (2000) and "Liebe", which reached number 34 on the German singles charts in 2003. In December 2002, members Søan Meyer and Katrin Beischer announced their departure. The remaining duo, Maaf Kirchner and Anke Hachfeld, released Picnic on the Moon in 2003 and embarked on a final tour, joined by Tobias Unterberg, Jan Klemm, and Lars Watermann. Hachfeld pursued a solo career under the name Milù, leading to the dissolution of Mila Mar. The band reformed in 2015 and continued performing live until Beischer's departure in October 2018. In 2019, remastered versions of Elfensex and Picnic on the Moon were released, followed by Harar in 2020.
