Miklós Maros was born on November 14, 1943, in Pécs, Hungary. He is a Hungarian composer and the son of composer Rudolf Maros and violinist Klára Molnár. He studied at the Béla Bartók Conservatory with Rezsö Sugár and the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy with Ferenc Szabó, later continuing his education in Stockholm with Ingvar Lidholm and György Ligeti. Maros began teaching from 1971 to 1973 at the Stockholm Secondary School of Music, and subsequently at the Studio for Electronic Music in Stockholm until 1978. In 1972, he formed the Maros Ensemble with his wife, singer Ilona Maros, focusing on contemporary music performances. Notable works include Stora Grusharpan, an opera released in 1982, and Castrati - Neuter, another opera from 2002. In 1990, Maros received the Lifetime-Artistsâ Award from the Swedish Government.
