Midi Mafia is a music production duo consisting of American Bruce Waynne and Canadian Kevin Risto, formed in 2003. Waynne, born Waynne Nugent in Brooklyn, New York, and Risto, known as Dirty Swift from Ottawa, Ontario, met while working on a project for Bad Seed at Makin' Records Studio. Their breakthrough came in 2002 when their beat was used for 50 Cent's Number 1 single "21 Questions" from the album Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Following this success, they signed publishing and production deals with Sony/ATV and Elektra Records respectively. In 2006, they launched FamilyTies, an imprint label that allowed them to sign and develop their own roster of talent. Notable collaborations include work with Frank Ocean on "Swim Good" from the mixtape Nostalgia Ultra, Fantasia on "When I See U", and Jennifer Lopez on "Hold It Don't Drop It". In 2010, they released their debut album Vegas Lights.
