Biography

Marc Sinan, born on May 15, 1976, in Munich, Germany, is a German-Turkish-Armenian guitarist and composer. He began his musical education at the Mozarteum in Salzburg under Eliot Fisk and Joaquín Clerch, continuing his studies at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Sinan's debut album A Royal Christmas was released in 1994 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. His career includes notable collaborations with Julia Hülsmann, Jörg Widmann, Burhan Öçal, and the Rodin-Quartet, as well as performances at venues like Jordan Hall in Boston and the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. Sinan founded the Marc Sinan Company in 2008, an ensemble known for its interdisciplinary projects. His albums include Fasil (2009), Hasretim – Journey to Anatolia (2013), and White (2018). He has also premiered works by composers such as Jörg Widmann and Helmut Oehring, and his compositions often address themes of trauma and social justice.
