Biography

Magnate & Valentino, a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo formed by Ramón del Robledo Nuñez Oliviera (Magnate) and Peter González Torres (Valentino), emerged in 1998 and became pioneers of the romantikeo subgenre, blending reggaeton with romantic ballads. Their debut album, Rompiendo el Hielo (2002), featured collaborations with Héctor & Tito and Nicky Jam, producing hits like "Gata Celosa" and "Quiero que hagas mujer." Their sophomore effort, Sin Límite (2004), included the popular track "Dile a Ella" featuring Don Omar. After a brief solo exploration—Valentino with Los Compadres: La Perfecta Ocasión (2006) alongside Mario VI and Gocho, and Magnate with his solo album Progresivo (2007)—they reunited to release Química Perfecta in 2009, which featured the single "Si te acuerdas de mí." Their final album together, Imparables, was released in 2013 before they amicably parted ways to pursue solo careers. Post-split, Magnate focused on his solo career in Colombia, while Valentino collaborated with artists like J Álvarez, Nicky Jam, and Manuel Turizo, releasing tracks such as "No Llores Más" and "Bésame."
