Biography

Born Robert Sisa Paula in Azua, Dominican Republic, on March 12, 1977, Luis Miguel del Amargue launched his career in 1998 with the album Amor de una Noche, released via Chaira Records and spotlighting a mix of bachata and merengue that led to a contract with JM Records. Over the next decade, he built a solid discography in Spain with albums such as Luisa María (1999), Te Echo de Menos (2000), Quiero Amanecer Contigo (2001), Amor de Locos (2002), and the best-of Grandes Éxitos (2003). In 2004 he released Corazón de Dinero, followed by Quiero Saber (2005) and Búscame (2006). His 2008 release De Rodillas Te Pido spawned a beloved titular hit that was later featured again on his 2009 comeback album Mi Regreso, which caught the attention of Sony Music and was reissued in the U.S., accompanied that same year by the compilation Mis Canciones, featuring the radio favorites “Se Acabó lo Bonito” and “Abrázame Amor.” In the 2010s, Luis Miguel Del Amargue reaffirmed his musical identity with the bachata-centric albums No Me Olvides (2018), El Dueño del Juego (2022), and two volumes of De Azua Pal’ Mundo (2024). Subsequent singles include the salsa-tinged “Devuélveme Todo (Salsa)” (2025) and “A un Milímetro de Ti (Versión Salsa).”
