Biography
Los Ronaldos were formed in Madrid in 1985 by guitarist and vocalist Coque Malla, who would become the groupâs frontman. The bandâs first rehearsal took place the same year, and they debuted publicly in January 1986 before signing with EMI, which enabled the release of their selfâtitled debut album Los Ronaldos in 1987; the record included early hits such as "SÃ, sÃ" and "Si os vais". In 1988 the group followed with Saca la lengua, a release that achieved greater commercial traction, notably the single "Adiós Papá", which reached the top of Spanish rock charts. 1990 saw the arrival of Sabor salado, recorded in the United Kingdom and produced by John Cale, though it did not match the popularity of earlier works. Subsequent albums Idiota (1994) and Quiero que estemos cerca (1996) did not secure significant chart positions, and the band disbanded in 1998. In 2005 the group issued Guárdalo con Amor, followed by the EP 4 Canciones in 2007, which spawned new material such as "No puedo vivir sin ti"; a promotional tour produced the live album La Bola Extra in 2008. The band officially dissolved again in 2008, after which members pursued solo careers.
