Loquillo is a Spanish rock and roll singer born as José MarÃa Sanz Beltrán on December 21, 1960, in Barcelona. He achieved professional recognition for a musical career characterized by rock and roll and for his work with the ensemble Los Trogloditas. Sanz Beltrán achieved professional recognition for a career that began with the group Teddy Loquillo y sus Amigos and founding the ensemble Loquillo y Los Intocables in 1980. His recording career began with the debut studio recording Los tiempos están cambiando (1981) featuring the single âRock 'n' Roll Starâ (1981). He achieved professional recognition for performing military service between 1981 and 1982 and founding the ensemble Loquillo y Trogloditas in 1983. Their discography included the studio recording La Mafia del baile (1985) and the studio recording Mis problemas con las mujeres (1987). Loquillo achieved professional recognition for collaborating with the musician Gabriel Sopeña on the poem adaptations La Vida por delante (1994) and Con elegancia (1998). He achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Balmoral (2008) being nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best Rock Vocal Album. Loquillo achieved professional recognition for receiving the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes in 2015 and the Medalla de Honor de Barcelona in 2017. His recording career included the studio recording Viento del este (2016) and the studio recording Diario de una tregua (2022).
