Loaded, an American hard rock band from Seattle, Washington, was formed in 1999. The group initially featured vocalist and rhythm guitarist Duff McKagan, who had previously been a member of Guns N' Roses. Loaded's first lineup included Michael Barragan, Dez Cadena, and Taz Bentley. They disbanded before the end of 1999 but reformed in 2001 with Mike Squires on lead guitar and Jeff Rouse on bass. Their debut album, Dark Days, was released in 2001. The band's lineup changed, including the addition of Dave Kushner and George Stuart Dahlquist, before going on hiatus due to McKagan's involvement with Velvet Revolver. Loaded returned from hiatus in 2008, releasing Wasted Heart (EP) and Sick in 2009. In 2011, they released their final album, The Taking, after which the band disbanded.
