10 Minute Warning was an American punk rock ensemble formed in 1982 in Seattle by Paul Solger and Duff McKagan. The initial lineup featured Steve Verwolf, David Garrigues, and Greg Gilmore. The group adapted punk to a slower tempo, influencing the development of the grunge genre. In 1984, the band recorded material including âLast Dreamâ and âNecropolitan Affairâ, but became inactive without releasing the tracks. Solger and McKagan subsequently performed with The Fartz and Guns N' Roses. In 1997, the ensemble resumed activity with vocalist Chrisopher Blue and recorded the studio album 10 Minute Warning, released by Sub Pop in 1998. The recording featured the tracks âSwollen Rageâ and âMezzâ. The group performed its final show in Portland on August 22, 1998. Verwolf died of a heroin overdose in August 2008. The archival recording This Could be Heaven - The Lost 1984 Recordings appeared in 2021.
