Biography

Kai Hansen was born in Hamburg, Germany, on January 17, 1963. In 1984, he founded the band Helloween, which he left in 1988 at the height of its fame. Kai Hansen reconverted to lead Gamma Ray, which he formed the following year. With this band, the guitarist and singer once again enjoyed success. His other collaborations with the bands Iron Savior (1997-2001) and Unisonic (2012-2014) also served to quench his seemingly unquenchable thirst for production. A phenomenon on the international heavy metal scene, Kai Hansen celebrates thirty years of career under the generic name Hansen & Friends with other German heavyweights on the album XXX: 3 Decades in Metal.
