Biography

Seventh Avenue, a German Christian metal group founded in 1989 in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, began when a group of adolescent musicians, later including vocalist Herbie Langhans, formed the band and released their debut album No Man's Land under a small label. Their early breakthrough came with the 1993 demo First Strike, followed by the studio releases Rainbowland (1995) and Tales of Tales (1996), the latter reaching number 18 on the Japanese charts. The band signed with Treasure Hunt Records for two albums, producing Southgate in 1998, which saw them touring extensively, notably in Brazil where they secured a South American distribution deal with Mega Hard Records. In 2003, after signing with Massacre Records, Seventh Avenue issued Between the Worlds and the subsequent album Eternals (2004). Their first concept album, Terium, launched on 28 March 2008, and the band performed at the Brainstorm Festival in the Netherlands that November. In 2009, Southgate was reissued by Ulterium Records. The group announced its disbandment on 4 September 2012.
