Biography

Liz Cooper, born in Baltimore, Maryland, is an American musician and songwriter. She formed Liz Cooper & The Stampede in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2014 with bassist Grant Prettyman and drummer Ky Baker. The band released their debut EP Monsters in 2014. In 2016, they released the live album Liz Cooper & The Stampede Live at the Silent Planet, followed by an Audiotree Live session in 2016 and another in 2017. Their first studio album, Window Flowers, was released on August 10, 2018, through Sleepyhead Records in partnership with Thirty Tigers. The band toured extensively, performing at festivals such as Austin City Limits, Newport Folk Festival, and Bonnaroo. In 2021, Cooper began her solo career, releasing the album Hot Sass via Thirty Tigers. She has since released the EP Soft Sass, featuring reinterpretations of tracks from Hot Sass.
