Biography
Lisa Haley is a fourth-generation fiddler with Irish immigrant ancestry. She was classically trained as a violinist and mentored by Grammy-winning zydeco pioneer Queen Ida. Lisa Haley's career began with her band Lisa Haley & the Zydekats, releasing their self-titled debut album in 1995. The group performed at numerous venues and festivals worldwide, including NoHo Summer Nights and the Annual Orange County Cajun Food & Music Celebration. In 2007, Haley's album King Cake reached number 15 on Billboard's World Albums chart. Other notable releases include Waiting for the Sky (1997), Talking to the Sun (2002), and All the Way Live! (2005). Her singles "Reggie Alligator" (2005) and "Mardi Gras Party Christmas" (2008) are also well-known.
