Biography

Les Milady's are a Quebec pop group, founded in 1965, from the Mauricie region (Canada), made up of Andrée Levasseur, Denise Biron and Hélène Levasseur. The group made its debut in 1965, taking part in amateur competitions and playing cabarets in Trois-Rivières and Shawinigan. They moved to Montreal in the summer of 1966, and released their first single with the songs " Donne-moi ton amour ", a French adaptation of the Supremes' " Where Did Our Love Go ", and " Regarde-moi ", a cover of the Chantels' " Look in my Eyes ". In 1967, the group released their eponymous debut album, " Sugartown ", which reached number 2 on the Quebec radio charts. That same year, Les Milady's toured Quebec with Les Jérolas, finishing at Place des Arts. They also win the Méritas trophy for sensations of the year at the 1967 Méritas gala. In 1968, the group released the album 15 Disque d'Or, and in 1969, Monsieur Dupont, with the title track, topped the radio charts. Until the end of their career in 1972, they enjoyed success with other songs, including " Blanc petit oiseau blanc " with Raymond Berthiaume, and " Une Vie d'amour ". In May 2012, the three women took part in the second edition of the Le Retour des Idoles tour, in the company of French and Quebec artists from the 1960s and 1970s.
