Biography
Born in 1941 in Montreal (Canada), Ginette Sage is a pop singer from Quebec. She began her career in 1959, singing at the Casa Loma cabaret in Montreal. Together with Rosita Salvator, she released an album in 1960, featuring six songs by each artist. That same year, she became the singer on the TV show Le Club des Autographes for one season. She released her first solo opus in 1962, entitled Ginette Sage Chante Ses Succès, with the songs " Adieu Mon Jean " and " Normand ", which were hits on the Quebec charts. In 1962, she also released the 45 rpm " J'irai à ton mariage ", which quickly became a hit on special request radio programs. The following year, she duets with Donald Lautrec on " Hey Paula ", originally sung by Ray Hildebrand and Jill Jackso, known as Paul & Paula. 1964 saw the arrival of his next album, C'Est Ma Fête. The title track, a cover of Lesly Gore's English-language hit " It's My Party ", was a hit on Quebec radio. In 1965, she records the song " Devant le juke-box ", a duet with Guy Boucher, a French-language version of the song " If I Didn't Have a Dime (to Play the Jukebox) " popularized by singer Gene Pitney in 1962. The song climbs to the top of the charts in Quebec. In 1967, Ginette Sage released an opus with the group Los Tres Compadres, in which she sang in Spanish. She later abandoned the music world, returning with a single entitled " Il serait bon d'aimer encore " in 1980. She then worked in the travel industry, accompanying organized groups.
