Biography

Making a name for herself first as the sweet-toned singer for Grammy-nominated "Kiss Me" hitmakers Sixpence None the Richer, who formed in 1992, Leigh Nash forged a solo career as a pop-rock singer-songwriter with country music tendencies. Born Leigh Anne Bingham in New Braunfels, Texas on June 27, 1976, her musical tastes were shaped by her religious Texan upbringing and she often performed at a local country & western dancehall, meeting Sixpence None the Richer guitarist Matt Slocum at a church retreat in the early '90s. After enjoying a successful career with the band during the early '00s, she stepped out on her own with her debut album of piano and acoustic pop, Blue on Blue, in 2006. She formed a new project with Canadian band Delerium, Fauxliage, with whom she released an album of the same name in 2007. Four years later, Leigh Nash poured her spirituality into a worship album for her second solo release, Hymns and Sacred Songs, while the following year she notched up her sixth album with Sixpence None the Richer, Lost in Transition. She channeled the country music artists she holds so close to her heart – namely Tanya Tucker, Loretta Lynn, and Patsy Cline – for her third album, The State I'm In (2015), which went to Number 39 on the Top Country Albums chart. In 2021, she unleashed The Tide, Vol. 1, featuring collaborations with Vince Gill and Tanya Tucker, among others.
