Biography

Léo Santana, born Leandro Silva de Santana Improta on April 22, 1988, in Salvador, Bahia, began his musical journey as “Leo Silva,” playing cavaquinho and pandeiro in local samba and community bands before joining Parangolé as lead vocalist around 2009, where he rose to national prominence with the massive hit “Rebolation,” which earned Song of the Year at the 2010 Troféu Dodô e Osmar. Transitioning into a solo career in 2014, he released his debut studio album Uma Nova História, followed by the live DVD #Deboche in 2015 featuring singles like “Abana” and “Deboche,” and his 2016 album Super Ensaio. Continuing his output, he issued the EP Inovando in 2018 (including collaborations with Maiara & Maraisa), and the album No Seu Paredão later that year, accompanied by live DVDs such as Ao Vivo em Goiânia and the 2019 Levada do Gigante, which featured the hit “Contatinho” with Anitta. In the 2020s, he remained active with charting singles like “Não Se Vá” (2022), “Zona de Perigo” (2022), “Posturado e Calmo” (2023), and a duet “Cama Repetida” with Zé Felipe in 2023, all while continuing to energize audiences with his commanding stage presence and samba-pop craftsmanship. In 2025, Léo Santana released the live album Leo & Elas, featuring duets with IZA, Ana Castela, Simone Mendes, Ivete Sangalo, Mari Fernandez, and Mc Danny.
