Lanier Stefanie Myra Johnston, known professionally as Lanie Lane, was born on February 11, 1987, in Sydney, Australia. She is a blues-jazz singer-songwriter and guitarist. In September 2010, she released her debut single "What Do I Do", which served as the theme song for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation TV series Crownies. Lane's first vinyl single, "Ain't Hungry"/"My Man", was released in August 2011. Her self-produced debut album, To The Horses, was released on Ivy League Records in October 2011 and peaked at number 12 on the ARIA Albums Chart. In February 2012, she opened for Icehouse and Hall & Oates. Lane's second studio album, Night Shade, was released in 2014 and reached number 42 on the ARIA Charts. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2012, Lane was nominated for five awards. In February 2015, she announced her decision to quit the music industry indefinitely.
