Kummerbuben, a Swiss dialect band, was formed in 2004 by founding members Simon Jäggi and Urs Gilgen. The group released their debut album Liebi und anderi Verbräche in 2007, featuring interpretations of old Swiss folk songs. Their second album, Schattehang, was released in 2009 and marked their first entry into the Swiss charts. In 2010, Kummerbuben collaborated with the Berner Ballet, resulting in the documentary film Buebe gö zâTanz. Their album Weidwund (2012) reached number 38 on the charts and stayed for four weeks. Subsequent albums include Dicki Meitschi (2015), Krabat (2017), and Itz mau Apokalypse (2018). In November 2009, Kummerbuben received the Anerkennungspreis from the Musikkommission des Kantons Bern for their significant musical contributions.
