KÅtarÅ Nakagawa, born on February 7, 1969, is a Japanese composer and arranger. He graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts' School of Music and began his career with composing for various anime series, including Kiko-chan Smile in 1996 and Geobreeders in 1998. His breakthrough came with the soundtrack for s-CRY-ed in 2001, followed by notable works such as Planetes (2003), Gun x Sword (2005), and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (2006). He has also worked on soundtracks for live-action series like Mirai Sentai Timeranger (2000) and Kamen Rider W (2009) and films such as Major: The Movie (2008) and Bloody Escape (2024).
