Biography

Koi Child was an Australian hip-hop band from Fremantle, Perth, Western Australia. Formed in 2014 through the combination of two bands; Kashikoi and Child's Play, Koi Child consisted of Shannon Cruz Patterson on vocals, Blake Hart on drums, Christian Ruggiero on tenor and baritone saxophone, Jamie Canny on alto saxophone, Sam Newman on trombone, Tom Kenny on keyboards and synthesizers, and Yann Vissac on bass guitar. Their self-titled debut album Koi Child was recorded, mixed, and co-produced by Kevin Parker of Tame Impala and released in March 2016 under Pilerats Records. Koi Child won five awards from eight nominations at the WAM Awards in 2015 and 2016. The band disbanded in 2018.
