Biography

Kim Hiorthøy is a Norwegian electronic musician and graphic designer who was born in Trondheim, Norway, in 1973. He achieved early professional recognition as a student at the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art and is famous for his eclectic musical style blending field recordings with electronic beats and for his extensive cover art design. Hiorthøy was introduced to the label Smalltown Supersound by Joakim Haugland and released his debut studio recording Hei (2000). His discography includes the studio recordings Melke (2001), For the Ladies (2004), My Last Day (2007), and Dogs (2014). He also released the EPs Hopeness (2004) and Live Shet (2004). His work as a graphic designer includes cover art for the labels Rune Grammofon and Smalltown Supersound, as well as illustrations for children's books.
