Kebnekajse is a Swedish rock band formed in 1971 by members of Mecki Mark Men. The group took its name from Kebnekaise, Sweden's highest mountain. Influenced by traditional Swedish folk music and African music, they debuted with the album Resa mot okänt mål (1971). Throughout the 1970s, Kebnekajse released several albums, including Kebnekaise II (1973), Ljus från Afrika (1976), and Vi drar vidare (1978). Key members included Kenny Håkansson on guitar and vocals and Pelle Ekman on drums and vocals. The band reunited in 2001 and released the album Kebnekajse in 2009, followed by Idioten (2011) and Aventure (2012).
