Biography

Kate Bollinger, born in Charlottesville, Virginia, grew up surrounded by music, influenced by her mother, a music therapist, and her two musician brothers. She began recording at home in high school and self-released her first EP Key West in 2017. In 2019, she issued I Don’t Wanna Lose, recorded in a single day, which featured the track “Candy”, later cited as inspiration for Kanye West’s 2021 song "Donda". After graduating from the University of Virginia in 2020, she released A Word Becomes a Sound. Signed to Ghostly International, she delivered Look at It in the Light (2022) before her debut album Songs from a Thousand Frames of Mind (2024).
