Peter D. Harper, born November 10, 1970 in Guildford, Surrey, England, is an Australian-American blues rock harmonica player, singer, and songwriter who moved to Perth, Western Australia at ten. Inspired by Stevie Wonder, he started playing harmonica and released his debut solo album Live at the Soup Kitchen in 1997 after performing in clubs. Harper gained international recognition with albums like Glass on the Stepping Stone (2000) and Down to the Rhythm (2005). He collaborated with notable artists including Muddy Waters, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, and Koko Taylor. His album Show Your Love, released in 2016, debuted at number 9 and peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard Blues Albums Chart. In 2020, Harper and his backing band Midwest Kind released Rise Up, which debuted at number 3 on the Billboard Blues Album Charts.
