Biography

A member of The Allman Brothers Band from 1989 to 2014, then founder/leader of Gov't Mule and close associate of The Grateful Dead, Warren Haynes (born in Asheville, North Carolina, on April 6, 1960) is a respected blues and rock figure. Composer, guitarist and singer, he also supports various charitable projects such as The Christmas Jam, an annual gathering of leading artists ready to help the underprivileged. His busy schedule doesn't dissuade him from offering some fine solo escapades. The albums Tales of Ordinary Madness (1994, produced by Chuck Leavell) and Man in Motion (2011, with contributions from Ian McLagan and Ivan Neville) are good examples. In 2015, Ashes & Dust, revolves around an acoustic formula with folk and bluegrass band Railroad Earth. The musician, who has released some 15 live albums and worked closely with the band Phil Lesh & Friends since 1999, frequently switches back and forth between his own band and Gov't Mule, recording four albums between 2015 and 2023. Warren Haynes then turned his attention to his fourth studio album, Million Voices Whisper, for which he invited Derek Trucks, Lukas Nelson and Jamey Johnson.
