Biography

Karen Ichiuji‑Ramone, born May 15 1951, was an American singer and actress who performed under the stage name Karen Kamon. Raised in the United States, she entered the music scene in the early 1980s, achieving her breakthrough with the single "Manhunt" in 1983, which appeared on the soundtrack for Flashdance. In 1983 she released the album Heart of You on CBS, featuring the track "Loverboy" that reached number 88 on the Billboard Hot 100. That same year she contributed the song "Squeeze Play" to the soundtrack of D.C. Cab. Her third album, Voices, was issued in 1987 by ATCO and included a cover of Russ Ballard’s "Voices." Karen Kamon also provided additional voices for the animated film Oliver & Company and appeared in a single episode of the television series T.J. Hooker. She married producer Phil Ramone in 1984 and passed away on March 25  2020.
