Biography

Jungle Rot, an American death metal band from Kenosha, Wisconsin, was formed in 1992 by Jim Harte and Joe Thomas. The band's name refers to jungle rot, a skin infection common in tropical climates. In 1994, guitarist Dave Matrise joined, marking a significant shift in their style and seriousness. Their first demo, Rip Off Your Face, was released in 1995, as well as their second demo, Skin The Living, later repackaged as their debut album under Pure Death Records in 1996. Subsequent albums include Dead and Buried (2001), War Zone (2006), and What Horrors Await (2009). Notable collaborations include tours with Deicide and Six Feet Under. In 2015, Jungle Rot performed at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival and released their ninth studio album, Order Shall Prevail. Their tenth album, Jungle Rot, was released in 2018.
