Biography

Jung Hoon-hee, born on May 11, 1951, in Busan, South Korea, is a legendary South Korean singer with a career spanning over five decades. Coming from a musically inclined family, she debuted in 1967 with "Fog" composed by Lee Bong-jo. She gained international recognition, winning the Best Singer Award at the 1970 Tokyo International Music Festival and later receiving accolades at the Athens International Song Festival (1971) and the Chilean Music Festival (1975, 1979). In 1975, she was implicated in a marijuana scandal, temporarily halting her career. However, she made a triumphant return in 1981, reaching her second peak with "In the Flower Garden" (1982). Her notable works include "Deserted Island," (1975) and "Flower Path,"(1971). She recorded "We Are One" (1989) with her husband, singer Kim Tae-hwa, while pregnant. Her notable albums include My Old Love Wiped Away in the Wave in 1976 and the celebrated album, 40th Anniversary Celebrations (2008).
