Biography

Park Kyung-hee is a Korean trot singer, born in June 1951 in Changwon, Korea, and who passed away on August 9, 2004. She debuted in 1974 with the song "The Bright Light in that Flower." Despite having a short career and passing away at a young age, the singer is recognized as a major talent with a limited number of hit songs. She has been praised for her vocal ability, which is considered comparable to that of Patti Kim, and some even describe her as having a more Western appearance and vocal skill than Patti Kim. Park Kyunghee showcased a remarkable vocal range based on a typical bel canto technique and a unique pronunciation. Her fans express great disappointment at not being able to listen to her songs again. Her album Now I'm Here / White Bird, released in November 1980, entered Bugs' Top 100 Folk/Acoustic albums chart at rank 36 on the week of December 8, 2025.
