Julian Lillebøe Berntzen, born on February 2, 1981, in Bergen, Norway, is a musician and composer. At an early age, he began playing multiple instruments, and at 17, several of his string quartet compositions were performed by members of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2003, Berntzen released his debut album Waffy Town under New Records, which was recorded in Gjøa Studio, Bergen, and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London. The album won the Spellemannprisen 2003 for Best Newcomer and was nominated for Best Male Pop Singer. In 2004, he released Pictures (in the House Where She Lives), followed by Rocket Ship Love in 2008 under Vertigo/Universal Music. Berntzen also composed music for the play The Snow Queen, based on Hans Christian Andersen's work, which premiered at Den Nationale Scene in Bergen in October 2012.
