Douglas John Parkinson, born on October 30, 1946, in Waratah, New South Wales, Australia, was a singer known for his contributions to pop and rock music. His first band, Strings and Things/A Sound, formed in 1965, later became the Questions, with whom he released singles like "Sally Go Round the Roses". In March 1968, he formed Doug Parkinson in Focus, achieving notable success with their cover of "Dear Prudence", which peaked at number 5 on the Go-Set National Top 40 in May 1969. Parkinson went on to lead several other bands, including Southern Star Band and Doug Parkinson Band. His solo album Heartbeat To Heartbeat was released in 1983. He passed away on March 15, 2021.
