Jory Boy is the stage name of Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Fernando Luis Sierra BenÃtez (July 5, 1986), who jumped to fame as one half of the duo Nova & Jory. Born in the city of Carolina, Puerto Rico, he relocated to the United States with his family at the age of 10, settling in Camden, New Jersey. After discovering reggaeton during his teenage years and participating in numerous talent shows in search of a breakthrough, he met Fernando âNovaâ González and formed Nova & Jory in 2007. The group rapidly gained popularity thanks to the single âPor Encima,â which was also the title of their first mixtape. They followed up with the mixtape Salimos del Bloque in 2010 and 2011âs Mucha Calidad, their official studio debut. Nova & Jory went their separate ways in 2012, allowing Jory Boy to embark on a solo career that catapulted him to international stardom. That year, he featured on the Pina Records compilation La Fórmula: The Company with the track âMoreâ featuring Zion and Ken-Y. Matando la Liga (2015), his studio debut, shot straight to the top of Billboardâs Latin Rhythm Albums and reached Number 3 on the Top Latin Albums chart. Further success ensued with the EPs Otra Liga (2016) and Otra Liga 2 (2018), followed by his sophomore effort Creme de la Creme in 2020. A third album titled La Esencia arrived in 2021. He returned a year later with Bubblegum, another urban-flavored collection of songs that included the hit "1942" with Kevvo. He followed with a steady drip of singlesââSin Prisa,â âComen Dos,â âDándole,â âTe Pregunto,â âMarbella,â and âParisââwhile prepping a star-packed return to album mode under Wisinâs La Base label. The sequel Matando La Liga 2 arrived in October 2025 with 19 tracks and heavyweight guests including Farruko (âReplayâ), Chencho Corleone (âIncorregibleâ), Wisin (âAvÃsaleâ), Jowell & Randy (âQuitipónâ), J Balvin (âQDMTâ), Caleb Calloway (âMáquinaâ), and Gotay & Ãengo Flow (âCombi Perfectâ), reasserting his mix of romantic reggaetón and street-leaning cuts.
