Biography

Jocelyne Béroard, a much-loved singer with the group Kassav', is a leading figure in French West Indian music. After a spell in Jamaica as a backing singer, she went on to work with numerous French artists, from Bernard Lavilliers to Herbert Leonard. She made her debut with Kassav' in 1980 and joined the group that revolutionized the West Indian music scene in 1983. Alongside the phenomenal success of Kassav', Jocelyne Béroard also released her own material. Siwo in 1986 went double gold, followed in 1988 by the hit "Kolé séré " in a duet with Philippe Lavil. This was followed by Milans (1991) and Madousinay (2003), which briefly made the French bestseller list. In 2011, Jocelyn Béroard brought together his best tracks on the two-CD best of Yen Ki Lanmou.
