Jimmie's Chicken Shack, an American alternative rock band from Annapolis, Maryland, formed in 1993. Their early releases included Chicken Scratch (1993) and Spit Burger Lottery (1994), both recorded on cassette tapes. In 1996, they signed to Elton John's Rocket Records and released their major-label debut, Pushing the Salmanilla Envelope. This album featured the singles "High" and "Dropping Anchor," with "High" reaching number 10 on Billboard's Active Rock chart. The band's subsequent release, Bring Your Own Stereo (1999), included the single "Do Right," which peaked at number 8 on Billboard's Alternative chart. After internal struggles and label changes, Jimmie's Chicken Shack released three independent albums: Re.present (2004), Fail on Cue (2008), and 2econds (2022). The band has toured with notable acts such as 311 and Live.
