The Leaving Trains were an American indie rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1980 by Falling James Moreland. After playing locally for three years, they released their debut album, Well Down Blue Highway, in 1984. Their second album, Kill Tunes, was released in 1986 under SST Records. Other notable albums include Fuck (1987) and Transportational D. Vices (1988). Moreland briefly disbanded the group to form The Power of Sky in 1991 but reunited with a new lineup. Following Chaz Ramirez's death in 1992, Falling James Moreland was kicked out of the band and later reformed it. Their final studio album, Emotional Legs, was released in 2001. The Leaving Trains performed their last live show that same year at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood as a backup band for Australian punk pioneer Rob Younger.
