Holger Hiller was born on December 26, 1956, in Hamburg and is a German musician. He studied at the Kunsthochschule Hamburg, where he met Walter Thielsch and Thomas Fehlmann, with whom he recorded his first pieces. In 1980, Hiller formed the group Palais Schaumburg with Fehlmann, serving as the singer. His solo career began with the release of Holger Hiller in 1980. As one of the earliest German musicians to use sampling extensively, Hiller released several notable albums, including Ein Bündel Fäulnis In Der Grube (1983) and Oben Im Eck (1986). He moved to London in 1984 and worked as a producer for Mute Records. Collaborations included the video "Ohi Ho Bang Bang" with Akiko Hada and Karl Bonnie, which showcased his innovative approach to integrating sampling techniques into videography. In 2003, Hiller relocated to Berlin, where he taught German as a foreign language.
