Max Prosa was born Max Podeschwig on July 31, 1989 in Berlin-Charlottenburg. He is a German singer-songwriter and poet who is considered part of the contemporary German-language singer-songwriter scene and has been active since the early 2010s. His music combines poetic lyrics with acoustic guitar and elements of folk, chanson and pop. With his very first release, he gained attention in the German music scene and was compared to the young Bob Dylan. After dropping out of university to study physics and philosophy, Max Prosa began to concentrate fully on music. In 2011, he was discovered by Clueso and supported his tour as a support act; in the same year, he made his first television appearance on Inas Nacht. In 2012, his debut album Die Phantasie wird siegen is released and reaches number 20 in the German album charts. He subsequently released a steady stream of albums: Rangoon (2013), Keiner kämpft für mehr (2017), Heimkehr (2018), Mit anderen Augen (2019), GrüÃe aus der Flut (2020) and Wann kannst ihr endlich friedlich sein? (2022) and Dein Haus (2024, with Sascha Stiehler). His well-known songs include the early singles "Flügel" (2011), "Mein Kind" (2012) and "Zauberer" (2013) as well as later releases such as "Glücklich mit nichts" ( 2017). More recent singles include "Vom Sonnendeck" (2025) and "Komm an meinen Tisch" (2025). In February 2026, Max Prosa released another studio album, Der Garten. Max Prosa is also active as a lyricist and author and has published several volumes of poetry and literary projects. He often works with his band, which includes Ben Anderson (drums & percussion), Erez Frank (electric bass) and Magnus Bang Olsen (piano & synthesizer).
