Biography

Jann Wilde (born Jani Matti Juhani on April 14, 1982, in Riihimäki, Finland) is an indie rock and new wave singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He began his career in 2004 with the demo EP Boys Out of New York. Wilde later collaborated with Rose Avenue to release the album Tokio Okei in 2007. In 2008, he released Neon City Rockers with the group Jann Wilde & The Neon Comets. Following a 2010 solo release, Don't Play with the Flame on Your Hand, he appeared in the documentary film Helsinki Twilight 1984. Wilde founded the group The Saturnettes in 2011, releasing an eponymous debut that year and a second album in 2013. In 2014, he began performing under his birth name, Jani Matti Juhani, with a musical style that encompasses alternative rock, post-punk revival, and synthpop.
