Biography

Janette Mason, born in Bushey, Hertfordshire, is a British jazz pianist, arranger, composer, and record producer. She grew up in Wembley, with her mother performing in the Gracie Cole Big Band. Mason studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Mason's career began in the 1990s when she toured with artists such as Oasis, K.d. lang, and Seal. Her debut album Din and Tonic was released in 2005, followed by Alien Left Hand in 2009, which was nominated for the Parliamentary Jazz Awards. She has also composed film scores for British dramas such as Ruby Blue (2008) and The Calling (2009). Throughout her career, she has performed at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall.
