Bo Ingemar Gunnar Hansson, known as Bo Hansson, was born on April 10, 1943, in northern Sweden. He moved to Stockholm and joined the rock and roll scene of the late 1950s, playing with bands such as Rock-Olga and The Merrymen. Hansson's breakthrough came when he formed Hansson & Karlsson with drummer Janne Carlsson. They released three albums together, played with Jimi Hendrix, and opened for Cream at the Stockholm Concert Hall before parting ways. In 1970, Hansson, inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of The Rings, released his debut solo album, Sagan Om Ringen (released internationally as Music Inspired by Lord of the Rings), which reached the Top 40 on the UK Album Chart. He passed away on April 23, 2010.
