Biography

Jan Plestenjak, born on March 27, 1973, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, is a pop singer known for his contributions to Slovenian music. He began playing guitar at an early age and received formal musical training at the Škofja Loka primary school of music and later at the Music and Ballet Conservatory in Ljubljana. Plestenjak's career took off with his debut album Gremo v kino released in 1994, which marked his entry into the Slovenian pop scene. Throughout his career, Jan Plestenjak has released numerous albums including Amore mio (1999), Solo (2003), and Osebno (2011). In 2005, he published a biography titled Smeh in solze, written by journalist Jaka Lucu. Plestenjak's album Klasika (2009) featured orchestral arrangements of his popular songs and won him the Viktor award for Singer of the Year in 2010. His other notable albums include Večja Od Neba (2013) and Dvigni Krila (2015).
