Biography
Jakalope was a Canadian indie pop/rock group formed in 2003 by Dave "Rave" Ogilvie. The band's name is derived from the mythical creature of the jackalope. Katie B joined as the frontwoman after meeting Ogilvie at Bryan Adams' studio in Vancouver. Their debut album, It Dreams, was released in 2004 and featured hit singles "Pretty Life" and "Feel It". The album included collaborations with Trent Reznor and other notable musicians. In 2006, Jakalope released their second album, Born 4. Katie B left the band in 2007 to pursue a solo career and was replaced by Chrystal Leigh. The group's third album, Things That Go Jump in the Night, was released in 2010. Jakalope gained significant popularity for performing the opening theme song for seasons 4â7 of the TV series Degrassi: The Next Generation.
