Biography
Neville Beckford, known as Jah Woosh, was born in 1952 in Kingston, Jamaica. He started his career as a mechanic before transitioning into music. After forming a duo with Reggae George and going solo, he became the resident DJ on Prince Lloyd's sound system. His breakthrough came when producer George Bell asked him to record "Angela Davis" under the pseudonym Jah Woosh. This led to his debut album Jah Woosh in 1974, followed by Chalis Blaze and Psalm of Wisdom in 1976, establishing his reputation in the UK. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Jah Woosh released several albums including Dreadlocks Affair, Lick Him With The Dustbin, and Marijuana World Tour. Neville Beckford died on February 21, 2011, at the age of 58.
